Bunting

Sometimes... oftentimes... I do things the hard way.
I'm trying to work on not doing things the hard way.
Take this pattern, for instance.
How hard could it be to make a repeating pattern out of stripes?! (albeit, wonky stripes).
Well, let me tell you.
Actually, I think I will spare you the grisly details of how I could not get this to work the first night I worked on it...
... and skip to the happy ending, in which I walked away from the computer to do something else, and BAM! The solution came to me.

This is not the first time that I have spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to force something to work the "hard way"...
... and then finally walked away, only to have the solution present itself to me shortly thereafter.

Note to self: Next time, step awaaayyy from the problem (and the computer)!

(Psst! Check out the new fabric on Spoonflower!)

  1. Have always found the best way to solve a difficult problem is to walk away! It works, almost every time. As for doing things the hard way, my younger daughter is expert in that skill! If she has the choice between a molehill or a mountain - be sure it will be the latter route she takes! We're always telling her to relax (not in her lexicon!) but I'm going to take the liberty of suggesting it to you!! (If you don't mind such advice from someone of such short acquaintance!!).
